A fast-growing Payment Service Provider operating in a highly regulated environment is looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to join its payments operations team. The client works with online merchants across card payments and alternative payment methods, where operational accuracy and transaction transparency are business-critical. This role offers a strong entry point into the FinTech industry, providing hands-on exposure to payment flows, reconciliation processes, and financial controls within an international payments ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure transaction integrity and support the smooth operation of daily payment activities. For someone analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to build a long-term career in payments, this is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable operational expertise from day one.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Perform daily reconciliation of payment transactions across card schemes, bank transfers, and alternative payment methods;
Match internal transaction records against bank statements, PSP reports, and acquiring partner data;
Investigate settlement discrepancies, unmatched transactions, and reconciliation breaks in a timely manner;
Support clearing and settlement activities with acquiring banks and payment partners;
Monitor transaction flows and payment gateway activity to ensure operational consistency and data accuracy;
Maintain accurate reconciliation records in accordance with internal operational controls and regulatory standards;
Prepare reconciliation summaries and operational reports for Finance and Payments Operations teams;
Collaborate with Compliance and Risk departments to support transaction transparency and audit readiness;
Assist with month-end closing activities related to payment settlements and financial reconciliation;
Contribute to process improvements aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing reconciliation exceptions.
🎓 Requirements:
Strong numerical accuracy and high attention to detail when working with financial data;
Good Excel skills, including formulas, filtering, sorting, and reconciliation-related analysis;
Interest in payments, FinTech, financial operations, or transaction processing;
Basic understanding of accounting principles or payment transaction flows is considered an advantage;
Ability to work effectively in a structured and compliance-driven environment;
Reliable, disciplined, and comfortable handling repetitive operational tasks with consistency;
Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
Motivation to develop a long-term career within the payments and financial services industry.
