💼 About the Role
The Head of Partnerships and Financial Institutions will own and develop key relationships with banks, correspondent banks, payment institutions, card schemes, processors, and financial infrastructure partners. The role exists to support international expansion, unlock new payment capabilities, and secure the partnerships needed for scalable regulated growth. You will work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, and commercial teams to turn strategic relationships into live, business-critical infrastructure.
🔍 Responsibilities
Develop and manage strategic partnerships with banks, correspondent banks, EMIs, PSPs, and financial infrastructure providers;
Identify new partnership opportunities that support the company’s international growth strategy;
Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and contractual agreements with financial institutions;
Build and maintain relationships with card schemes, BIN sponsors, payment processors, and banking partners;
Work with Product and Operations teams to launch new payment capabilities and market-specific infrastructure;
Manage existing strategic partners and strengthen long-term cooperation, performance, and trust;
Support expansion into new European markets by securing appropriate banking and payment infrastructure;
Coordinate partner onboarding and implementation activities across internal teams;
Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and partnership opportunities across FinTech and payments;
Represent the company in strategic partner meetings, industry events, and commercial discussions;
🎓 Requirements
4+ years of experience in financial institutions, banking partnerships, business development, payments, or a related FinTech role;
Strong understanding of correspondent banking, payment infrastructure, acquiring, issuing, or international payments;
Experience negotiating commercial agreements with banks, payment providers, or regulated financial institutions;
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior internal and external decision-makers;
Commercial mindset combined with a solid understanding of regulated financial services;
Ability to manage several strategic projects, partner discussions, and implementation tracks in parallel;
Fluent English with clear, confident communication skills;
Willingness to work from a modern city-centre office with a hybrid option.
Nice to Have
Existing network across banks, EMIs, PSPs, card schemes, or payment infrastructure providers;
Experience with Mastercard, BIN sponsorship, card issuing, instant payments, escrow, or embedded finance;
Exposure to international market expansion within European payments or banking infrastructure;
Additional European languages.
