🌍 About the Company
The client is an international payments company operating within a regulated financial services environment. As the business continues to develop, the company is strengthening its local risk management function and building a more structured approach to identifying, monitoring, and managing material risks.
The company is now looking for an experienced Risk Management Officer who can combine regulatory knowledge with a practical, business oriented approach.
💼 About the Role
As Risk Management Officer, you will own and continuously improve the company’s risk management framework. You will operate as an independent second line control function, report directly to the Management Board, and provide clear oversight of the company’s risk profile.
The role requires someone who can take over existing processes, bring structure to risk reporting and registers, challenge business decisions constructively, and introduce practical improvements. The company is open to both full-time and part-time arrangements, depending on the candidate’s experience and availability.
🔍 Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s risk management policies, procedures, methodologies, and control framework;
Identify, assess, monitor, and report operational, financial, compliance, ICT, cyber security, outsourcing, reputational, and other material risks;
Maintain the Risk Register, Incident Register, risk map, Controls Library, and supporting risk documentation;
Prepare quarterly and annual risk reports for the Management Board, including material developments, control weaknesses, limit breaches, and recommended actions;
Coordinate Risk and Control Self-Assessments and the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment process across business functions;
Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators, early warning thresholds, and the company’s Risk Appetite Statements;
Review and constructively challenge risk assessments, mitigation plans, and risk acceptance decisions made by first-line functions;
Oversee operational resilience, business continuity, crisis management, stress testing, and scenario analysis from a risk perspective;
Assess third-party and outsourcing risks, including material service providers and critical outsourcing arrangements;
Support regulatory submissions and act as a key point of contact for the Bank of Lithuania and other relevant authorities on risk management matters.
🎓 Requirements
Relevant experience in risk management within payments, banking, electronic money, FinTech, or another regulated financial services environment;
Strong understanding of second-line risk management responsibilities and internal control principles;
Practical experience managing risk registers, incidents, risk assessments, controls, risk appetite, and management reporting;
Knowledge of operational risk, ICT and cyber risk, outsourcing risk, operational resilience, and business continuity;
Ability to prepare clear, concise, and decision-oriented reports for senior management and the Management Board;
Confidence communicating with regulators, auditors, business leaders, and other control functions;
Fluent English, both written and spoken; Lithuanian would be considered an advantage;
An impeccable professional reputation and the ability to perform the role independently and objectively.
