Its modular platform supports digital onboarding, account management, payment processing, compliance, AML controls and customer self-service. 💼 About the Role
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will take ownership of quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle, combining hands-on functional testing with UI, API and integration automation. You will work closely with developers and product stakeholders to identify risks early, improve test coverage and make releases more predictable. The role offers room to influence automation architecture, quality standards and CI/CD practices across business-critical banking products.
🔍 Responsibilities
Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify gaps, risks and testability issues before development begins;
Define test coverage, estimate testing effort and select the right balance between manual and automated testing;
Design and execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory and data-driven tests for complex financial workflows;
Build and maintain reliable UI, API and integration automation aligned with business risk and product value;
Improve automation frameworks, reusable components, reporting and suite organisation for long-term maintainability;
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish appropriate quality gates for builds and releases;
Investigate failures using application logs, network requests, APIs, databases and observability data;
Record clear, reproducible defects, support root cause analysis and identify recurring quality issues;
Validate releases through regression testing, production smoke testing and support for user acceptance testing;
Promote shift-left testing, review automation code and improve quality practices across delivery teams.
🎓 Requirements
Strong commercial experience in software quality assurance across both manual and automated testing;
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining UI and API test automation;
Practical knowledge of Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or a comparable automation framework;
Good understanding of API, integration, regression and backend testing;
Ability to design clear test scenarios for complex workflows, edge cases and negative paths;
Experience working with test data, databases, logs and application behaviour when investigating failures;
Familiarity with CI/CD processes, version control and modern software delivery practices;
Clear English communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product managers and other stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins or a similar CI/CD platform;
Exposure to performance, load, security or accessibility testing;
Previous experience with FinTech, banking, payments, AML or other regulated software;
Understanding of payment integrations, financial transaction lifecycles or ISO 20022 messaging.
