The client is an established FinTech software provider with more than two decades of experience building infrastructure for regulated financial institutions. Its modular platform covers digital onboarding, multi-currency accounts, payments, compliance and AML. The company supports connectivity to SEPA, Faster Payments, Bacs, T2, and CENTROlink, serving customers across Europe and other international markets. You will join an international technology group where product decisions directly influence business-critical financial systems.
💼 About the Role
As Product Owner / Business Analyst, you will guide the development of a payment gateway platform used by banks, electronic money institutions, payment institutions and other regulated businesses. You will turn commercial, operational and regulatory needs into clear product decisions, specifications, and priorities for engineering teams. The role combines hands-on business analysis with genuine ownership of the backlog, roadmap, and delivered outcomes.
🔍 Responsibilities
Own and prioritise the payments platform backlog according to customer value, regulatory needs, technical dependencies, and business priorities;
Lead requirement discovery with internal stakeholders, financial institutions, and integration partners;
Translate complex payment journeys into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and business rules;
Analyse transaction lifecycles, message flows, exceptions, reconciliation needs, and integration dependencies;
Work closely with engineers, architects, QA, compliance, operations, and project management throughout delivery;
Support integrations with banks, payment service providers, clearing systems, and other financial infrastructure partners;
Ensure product requirements reflect relevant payment scheme rules, DORA, GDPR, security, and operational resilience expectations;
Validate delivered functionality through product reviews, acceptance testing, and stakeholder feedback;
Use production insights and customer needs to improve reliability, scalability, automation, and user experience;
Contribute to the product roadmap while keeping sprint planning, refinement, and delivery decisions focused on measurable outcomes.
🎓 Requirements
At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or Systems Analyst in FinTech, banking, payments, or financial technology;
Practical understanding of payment processing, bank transfers, transaction lifecycles, or digital banking platforms;
Experience gathering requirements and producing actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, and process documentation;
Ability to discuss APIs, system integrations, data flows, error scenarios, and technical dependencies with engineering teams;
Experience owning or actively managing a product backlog within an Agile or Scrum delivery model;
Strong analytical skills and the ability to bring structure to complex or incomplete business requirements;
Confident stakeholder management across technical, operational, commercial, and compliance functions;
Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of SEPA Credit Transfer, SEPA Instant, SEPA Direct Debit, ISO 20022, Faster Payments, Bacs, T2, or CENTROlink;
Experience with core banking, payment gateways, EMIs, payment institutions, or Banking-as-a-Service platforms;
Familiarity with DORA, GDPR, information security, AML, or compliance-driven software delivery;
Lithuanian language skills.
