💼 About the Role
As Reconciliation & Safeguarding Specialist, you will ensure accurate payment accounting, settlement reconciliation and control over safeguarded client funds. Your work will directly support financial data accuracy, liquidity control, regulatory reporting and internal control readiness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precise financial operations, regulated processes and cross-functional collaboration across finance, payments, IT and compliance.
🔍 Responsibilities
Reconcile daily payment transactions and settlements across internal systems, bank accounts, payment partner reports and accounting records;
Maintain accurate records and controls for client funds safeguarding in line with legal requirements and internal procedures;
Monitor incoming and outgoing payment flows, identify discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution;
Control payment card transactions, including commission and fee accounting;
Oversee EKS transaction control, settlement account balances and liquidity needed for settlements;
Prepare financial, statistical and regulatory reports for supervisory authorities;
Produce daily, weekly and monthly finance reports and support data accuracy in accounting records;
Track regulatory changes and help implement process updates within your area of responsibility;
Prepare information for internal controls, external audits and supervisory authority requests;
Work closely with accounting, IT, payment operations and compliance teams to keep daily processes reliable and efficient.
🎓 Requirements
Must Have
Higher education in finance, economics, accounting or a related field;
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and payment accounting;
Understanding of payment services, FinTech operations and electronic money institution processes;
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail when working with financial data;
Good Microsoft Excel skills;
Ability to plan your work independently and meet deadlines;
Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style;
Professional English skills suitable for working with financial documentation and cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Experience in a bank, electronic money institution or FinTech company;
Experience with EKS and Latvian Bank electronic reporting systems;
Experience using data analysis or visualization tools such as Power BI;
Familiarity with regulatory reporting, audit support or client funds safeguarding controls.
