The client is a growing specialised bank strengthening its leadership team with an experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This role is critical in ensuring the company maintains a robust, forward-looking risk management framework while supporting sustainable business growth. You will work closely with senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape strategic decisions across credit, operational, market, and liquidity risk areas. 🔍 Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the company’s enterprise-wide risk management strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations;
Lead and oversee risk management activities across credit, liquidity, market, and operational risk domains;
Continuously enhance the risk appetite framework, including risk limits, governance structures, and key risk indicators (KRIs);
Ensure full compliance with IFRS 9 requirements, including impairment modelling, provisioning methodologies, and reporting processes;
Advise senior management and executive stakeholders on strategic risk-related decisions and emerging risk exposure;
Lead stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk identification initiatives to assess potential vulnerabilities and business resilience;
Maintain and improve internal risk management policies, procedures, and governance documentation;
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by the Central Bank and other supervisory authorities;
Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization through guidance, collaboration, and leadership;
Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary risk framework adjustments proactively.
🎓 Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior risk leadership role within banking, FinTech, or financial services;
Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, including credit, liquidity, market, and operational risk;
Hands-on experience with IFRS 9 impairment methodologies and risk modelling processes;
Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to regulated financial institutions in the EU;
Experience working with supervisory authorities and managing regulatory communication;
Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate complex risk topics into strategic business recommendations;
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across executive and operational levels;
University degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, or a related field.
