Our client is a fast-growing global payments infrastructure provider enabling businesses to move money seamlessly across borders. With capabilities spanning multi-currency card payments, global payouts, and fiat-to-crypto solutions, they support a wide range of merchants, marketplaces, and fintech platforms.
This role sits at the heart of merchant activation - ensuring businesses are successfully onboarded with acquiring banks and payment partners. It’s a critical position where operational precision meets compliance understanding, requiring someone who can own the process end-to-end and drive results in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of merchant onboarding with acquiring banks and payment providers;
Act as the primary point of contact for merchants throughout onboarding and approval stages;
Translate compliance, legal, and onboarding requirements into clear client-facing instructions;
Collect, review, and validate onboarding documentation (corporate, compliance, and commercial);
Assess document quality beyond checklists - ensuring they meet regulatory and acquirer expectations;
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or compliance risks and guide clients on necessary improvements;
Prepare and structure complete onboarding packages for submission to acquiring partners;
Coordinate ongoing communication and Q&A between merchants and acquiring banks;
Track onboarding pipelines, manage SLAs, and proactively resolve bottlenecks;
Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, legal, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
🎓 Requirements:
2+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial services in a client-facing role;
Proven experience with merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB, or acquiring workflows;
Strong understanding of key documents (e.g. incorporation docs, UBO structures, AML policies, T&Cs);
Ability to critically assess documentation quality and identify red flags or compliance gaps;
Excellent communication skills - able to clearly guide clients through complex requirements;
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities across multiple onboarding pipelines;
Working knowledge of AML/KYC principles and regulatory expectations;
Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
