Our client is a forward-thinking financial institution strengthening its governance and control environment in response to rapid growth and evolving regulatory demands. This board-level role is critical in ensuring the company operates with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
You will take ownership of AML/CFT, Compliance, and Risk functions, acting as a key decision-maker and trusted partner to executive leadership. This is an opportunity to directly influence strategy while safeguarding the company in a complex FinTech landscape.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Provide board-level leadership across AML/CFT, Compliance, Risk, and Legal functions;
Act as the designated executive accountable for AML/CFT compliance and regulatory adherence;
Oversee and guide senior leaders including Compliance, Risk, and Legal heads;
Design, implement, and continuously enhance governance, risk, and compliance frameworks;
Ensure full compliance with EU and local AML, sanctions, and anti-fraud regulations;
Lead regulatory engagement, including communication with supervisory authorities and auditors;
Embed a strong culture of compliance, ethics, and risk awareness across the organisation;
Monitor regulatory developments and proactively adapt internal policies and controls;
Deliver strategic risk assessments and compliance insights to support board-level decisions;
Report directly to the Chairperson on critical risk, compliance, and legal matters.
🎓 Requirements:
Master’s degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or Business Administration (or equivalent);
Proven experience in AML/CFT, sanctions, and compliance within financial services;
Prior leadership experience managing compliance or risk functions at a senior level;
Strong knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, and risk management practices;
Demonstrated ability to operate at executive or board level with strategic impact;
Excellent analytical thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on leadership approach;
High level of integrity with a strong professional reputation;
Fluency in English and Latvian.
