Lead Backend Engineer (Python / Django, AI-Driven Systems)
Lead the evolution of a high-impact cybersecurity platform and build AI-powered systems at scale. Ready to shape the future of ethical hacking?
We usually respond within two weeks
Our client is a fast-growing cybersecurity marketplace connecting companies with top-tier ethical hackers and pentesters. Having reached strong product-market fit, they are now entering a critical scaling phase - evolving their platform into a robust, AI-powered ecosystem.
This role sits at the core of that transformation. You will take ownership of a production-grade Django monolith, define its future architecture, and lead the integration of AI into real operational workflows. From optimizing vulnerability triage to exploring autonomous security agents, your work will directly impact how modern cybersecurity is delivered.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Own and evolve a complex Python/Django monolith, defining architecture decisions for scalability and performance;
Design and optimize backend systems supporting bug bounty workflows, pentest programs, and real-time messaging;
Lead integration of AI/LLM solutions into production pipelines (e.g., report triage, classification, validation);
Build and scale asynchronous systems using Celery and real-time services via Django Channels;
Improve system security, access controls, and data validation across the platform;
Optimize PostgreSQL queries, caching strategies, and background job performance;
Enhance CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based environments, and infrastructure reliability;
Customize and extend internal tools (e.g., Django Admin) to support operational teams;
Collaborate closely with product and security stakeholders to deliver user-centric solutions;
Continuously refactor and modernize code while maintaining high test coverage and system stability.
🎓 Requirements:
Proven experience building and scaling production-grade applications using Python and Django;
Strong full-stack backend ownership mindset (DB design, APIs, async systems, deployment);
Hands-on experience with Celery, WebSockets, and distributed system debugging;
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL performance optimization and data modeling;
Practical experience integrating LLMs into real-world workflows (local or API-based);
Familiarity with AI concepts such as prompt engineering, structured outputs, and pipeline reliability;
Interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or offensive security environments;
Strong testing culture and experience maintaining CI pipelines.
✨ The Employer Offers:
Opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a scaling cybersecurity platform;
High ownership role with architectural decision-making authority;
Exposure to cutting-edge AI applications embedded in real operational workflows;
Flexible working model (hybrid or fully remote options);
Early-stage equity and long-term growth potential;
Modern engineering environment with Docker, CI/CD, and strong development practices;
Mission-driven product contributing to cybersecurity and digital resilience.
