Our client is a growing Payment Service Provider specializing in card payments and alternative payment methods for online merchants. The company operates in a regulated environment where reliability, security, and system availability are key priorities. This role supports day-to-day payment operations, ensuring the payment gateway runs smoothly and meets the needs of both merchants and internal teams. It’s a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with payment systems, solving practical challenges, and contributing to stable, high-quality operations.
💼 About the Role
The Payment Gateway Technical Support Specialist is responsible for the administration and operational support of the Payment Gateway system. This includes, but is not limited to, system operation, monitoring, configuration, and development activities to ensure the Company’s services remain secure, stable, and sustainable.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Provide operational and technical support for the Payment Gateway system, including administration, monitoring, and development.
Set up, configure, and update system entities upon request (customers, projects, terminals, etc.).
Implement configuration changes, including routing, geolocation, limits, velocity controls, and other system parameters.
Ensure system data is accurate and up to date.
Monitor system performance to ensure continuous integrity, availability, and optimal operation.
Monitor data usage, regulate access rights, and maintain data flows within the system and connected systems.
Test data processing within the system to ensure correct and reliable operation.
Test and start operational use of new system versions into production.
Coordinate integration of the Payment Gateway with third-party systems.
Coordinate customer integrations with the system.
Participate in and coordinate investigations related to incidents and potential security breaches.
Provide guidance and support to internal business users and external customers.
Ensure the development and maintenance of user and customer documentation and instructions.
Participate in system improvement initiatives and the introduction of new technologies.
Participate in integrations with other internal systems.
Participate in the development and maintenance of IT Disaster Recovery Plans.
Continuously improve professional skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by company management.
🎓 Requirements:
2+ years of hands-on experience with a payment gateway or similar payment processing system.
Solid understanding of card acquiring and payment processing flows.
Working knowledge of IT systems relevant to payment platforms.
Ability to act calmly in non-standard situations and adapt quickly to change.
Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Fluent English (written and spoken).
Self-driven, responsible, and comfortable working under pressure.
Higher education is an advantage, but not mandatory.
Experience with programming Languages: Python, C#, SQL, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Bash/Shell scripting is a big advantage.
Experience with databases: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Redis, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch is a big advantage.
