Our client is an established banking and financial technology company delivering specialized software solutions to banks and financial institutions across 80+ countries. Their platforms support critical financial transaction workflows and digital service channels used by global banking players.

As Head of Software Engineering, you will lead the engineering team, ensure reliable delivery of mission-critical systems, and gradually strengthen engineering standards, architecture governance, and operational maturity. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and delivery accountability.

🔍 Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a distributed software engineering team (onsite and remote);

• Ensure stable and predictable software delivery aligned with business priorities;

• Oversee backend architecture based on microservices and server-based systems;

• Strengthen SDLC processes, CI/CD pipelines, and quality assurance practices;

• Establish and maintain engineering standards, documentation, and code quality guidelines;

• Plan engineering capacity and support hiring and team development;

• Collaborate closely with Product and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions;

• Support infrastructure and deployment practices in Kubernetes-based environments;

• Act as a senior technical reference point when needed (Java or .NET ecosystem);

• Foster knowledge-sharing, documentation culture, and domain ownership within the team.

🎓 Requirements:

Must-have:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar role;

• Strong hands-on background in backend development (Java or .NET);

• Solid experience with microservices and server-based architectures;

• Proven experience improving SDLC processes, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering quality practices in production environments;

• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or other regulated environments;

• Practical experience working with Kubernetes in production environments;

• Strong leadership and communication skills;

• Fluency in Russian or English (spoken and written).

Nice-to-have:

• Experience improving engineering processes and team performance;

• Familiarity with DevOps best practices and infrastructure automation;

• Experience introducing documentation standards (e.g., ADRs, system design documentation);

• Experience working with high-availability or mission-critical systems;

• Lithuanian language skills.
