Our client - a technology-driven company building next-generation FinTech and blockchain platforms used in real-world financial ecosystems. At the core of these platforms stands the Senior Backend Engineer — a key role responsible for the stability, scalability, and security of mission-critical systems.

This position sits at the heart of backend engineering and directly impacts how financial transactions, payment integrations, and blockchain logic perform in production. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will shape the architecture of distributed systems, influence technical decisions, and ensure the platform can scale reliably under high load and strict security requirements.

The company is part of a global group – a multi-jurisdictional fintech and digital asset infrastructure provider with presence across the EU, UK, USA and Middle East. The group builds regulated rails for digital assets and fiat payments, offering business clients IBANs, crypto wallets, cross-border payments, card acquiring, card issuing and more, all under a single compliant framework. 

🔍 Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI;

• Build and evolve microservices handling FinTech and blockchain-related logic;

• Develop new product features end-to-end, from design to production;

• Integrate payment providers, blockchain nodes, wallets, and third-party services;

• Design robust REST APIs with a focus on security, scalability, and performance;

• Implement event-driven workflows (queues, retries, producers/consumers);

• Write and maintain high-quality automated tests (unit, integration, E2E);

• Optimize systems for high load, low latency, and fault tolerance;

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams in an agile setup.

🎓 Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial experience with Python in production environments;

• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI and asynchronous programming (async/await);

• Proven background in FinTech, crypto, Web3, or banking systems;

• Solid experience with microservice architectures and REST API design;

• Hands-on work with SQL and NoSQL databases;

• Daily experience with Docker, Git, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines;

• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and Clean Architecture;

• Analytical mindset with strong system design and decomposition skills;

• Professional working proficiency in English and Russian.
