💼 About the Role
The Head of Finance (Latvia) will play an important role in establishing and leading financial operations in the region, acting as a key partner to EU and UK leadership. This is a senior, hands-on role for a finance leader who thrives in regulated, high-growth environments and enjoys building structures from the ground up.
🔍 Responsibilities:
Lead all finance operations in Latvia, covering accounting, reporting, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Own and deliver the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.
Design and maintain robust financial control frameworks aligned with group and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with Latvian GAAP, IFRS, local tax regulations, and EU financial services requirements.
Manage statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory submissions to local and EU supervisory authorities.
Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the Latvian entity.
Partner closely with commercial, product, and operations teams to support performance and growth.
Act as a trusted finance counterpart to UK and EU senior leadership, aligning strategy and execution.
Lead continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and automation.
Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing local finance team as the business grows.
🎓 Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent; Latvian qualification is a strong plus).
5+ years of post-qualification experience, including senior-level finance responsibility.
Strong working knowledge of Latvian GAAP and IFRS.
Experience within FinTech, payments, EMIs, or other regulated financial services environments.
Solid understanding of EU regulatory frameworks applicable to EMIs, PIs, or financial institutions.
Proven strength in financial controls, reporting, and technical accounting.
Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial finance.
Fluent English; Latvian language skills are a significant advantage.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, scaling organisations with high ownership.
