The Head of Finance (Latvia) will play an important role in establishing and leading financial operations in the region, acting as a key partner to EU and UK leadership. This is a senior, hands-on role for a finance leader who thrives in regulated, high-growth environments and enjoys building structures from the ground up.

🔍 Responsibilities:

• Lead all finance operations in Latvia, covering accounting, reporting, governance, and regulatory compliance.

• Own and deliver the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.

• Design and maintain robust financial control frameworks aligned with group and regulatory standards.

• Ensure compliance with Latvian GAAP, IFRS, local tax regulations, and EU financial services requirements.

• Manage statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory submissions to local and EU supervisory authorities.

• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the Latvian entity.

• Partner closely with commercial, product, and operations teams to support performance and growth.

• Act as a trusted finance counterpart to UK and EU senior leadership, aligning strategy and execution.

• Lead continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and automation.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing local finance team as the business grows.

🎓 Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent; Latvian qualification is a strong plus).

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience, including senior-level finance responsibility.

• Strong working knowledge of Latvian GAAP and IFRS.

• Experience within FinTech, payments, EMIs, or other regulated financial services environments.

• Solid understanding of EU regulatory frameworks applicable to EMIs, PIs, or financial institutions.

• Proven strength in financial controls, reporting, and technical accounting.

• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial finance.

• Fluent English; Latvian language skills are a significant advantage.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, scaling organisations with high ownership.
