Our client, a global and well established payment processing provider, is looking for an experienced Team Lead to head their Merchant Acquiring Sales department.
With over 10 years of proven track record, the company powers payment infrastructure for more than 2,000 clients—including PSPs, banks, and online/offline merchants—processing close to €1 billion in transactions annually. As a Principal Member of Visa and Mastercard the company offers a wide range of cutting-edge solutions: from card acquiring and alternative payment methods to white-label issuing, gateway technology, and end-to-end processing.
Now, they’re strengthening their commercial team and seeking a strong leader to drive the growth of their merchant acquiring business—focusing on e-commerce merchants and strategic PSP partnerships across the EU and UK. You’ll be leading a team of sales professionals, shaping acquisition strategy, and playing a key role in scaling high-impact payment solutions in a competitive global market.
🔍 Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of sales professionals focused on merchant acquiring;
- Develop and execute sales strategies targeting e-commerce merchants and PSP partnerships;
- Drive full-cycle merchant acquisition: prospecting, pitching, closing, and onboarding;
- Build strategic alliances with other PSPs and fintech ecosystem players;
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations to optimize the merchant journey;
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify new business opportunities;
- Track sales performance, analyze results, and report to senior management.
🎓 Requirements:
- Proven experience in sales leadership within fintech or payments;
- Strong understanding of payment acquiring (cards and alternative payment methods);
- Track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams;
- Commercial mindset with strategic thinking and a hands-on attitude;
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication in English. Other languages would be considered as an advantage;
- Confidence in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
