We are looking for a motivated Sanctions Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join the Compliance team of a dynamic Europe-based EMI with a global outlook. In this role, you will be responsible for transaction monitoring against global sanctions lists and ensuring a risk-based approach to onboarding.
🔍 Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze transactions to identify potential sanctions violations or suspicious activity;
- Investigate and escalate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system in line with internal procedures;
- Conduct in-depth reviews of customer profiles and payment patterns to detect potential breaches;
- Maintain knowledge of evolving global sanctions regulations (EU, OFAC, UN, etc.);
- Draft concise, well-supported investigation reports and support regulatory filings as needed;
- Collaborate with internal teams including Risk, Legal, and Compliance to resolve complex cases;
- Contribute to the enhancement of monitoring tools, workflows, and internal policies;
- Assist during internal audits and regulatory inspections by providing accurate data and documentation.
🎓 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in sanctions screening, AML, or 1+ years - in transaction monitoring within a financial institution;
- Solid understanding of international sanctions regimes and compliance frameworks;
- Experience with transaction monitoring and case management systems;
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound judgments under pressure;
- Fluency in Lithuanian and English is required;
- Professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CGSS) is desirable.
