The company provides advanced payment and banking solutions for businesses across the EU and UK, combining cutting-edge technology with regulatory expertise. Built by industry veterans, they specialize in acquiring solutions, payment accounts, open banking services, and corporate virtual card issuing, supporting Payment Service Providers (PSPs), EMIs, and Neo-Banks.

With a 100+ person IT team dedicated to development and infrastructure, the company is building a proprietary core banking platform and AI-driven payment gateway to support its expanding operations. Their principal membership status with Mastercard and VISA enable scalable payment solutions, further strengthening their position in the market. 🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the company’s vision and growth strategies, ensuring long-term success in the fintech space.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business goals.
• Lead the market expansion, opening new jurisdictions and scaling product offerings.
• Develop and nurture relationships with regulators, banking partners, investors, and high-profile clients.
• Ensure financial health, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.
• Inspire and lead a growing, high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and efficiency.

🎓 Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in a C-level role (CEO, CBDO, COO) within a regulated financial institution (EMI, PSP, Bank, or Fintech).
• Proven leadership in scaling operations and driving market expansion in the fintech/payments sector.
• Deep understanding of EMI, acquiring, and open banking regulations in the EU & UK.
• Strong stakeholder management – ability to build strategic relationships with regulators, banking partners, and investors.
• Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Must be based in Malta or willing to relocate.
